Is logbook import free in Flight Log?

Yes. Import is completely free and unlimited, and imported flights never count toward the free tier's flight limit. You can bring 10,000 hours in and evaluate the app with your real logbook.

Which logbook apps can Flight Log import from?

LogTen Pro (tab or CSV export), ForeFlight (Logbook CSV export), MyFlightbook (CSV download) and any generic CSV with date and route or tail-number columns. Columns are matched automatically.

What data carries over?

Dates, routes, block-off/on times, total, night, instrument and hood time, cross-country, PICUS, dual given/received, day and night landings, approaches, holds, roles, registrations, aircraft types and remarks. Duplicates are detected and skipped automatically.

Where is my logbook stored after import?

On your device and in your private iCloud. Flight Log has no servers and no account — nobody but you can read your logbook.

Your logbook is your career. That's exactly why changing apps feels impossible — 2,000 hours don't retype themselves. So we made import free, unlimited and two minutes long: export a CSV from your current app, open Flight Log, done. Imported flights never count against the free tier.

Step 1 — Export from your current app

LogTen Pro

On Mac or iPad: File → Export → Flights, choose Tab or CSV format and save the file. AirDrop it to your iPhone or save it to iCloud Drive.

ForeFlight

On the web: Logbook → Settings (gear) → Export Logbook. ForeFlight produces a CSV with an aircraft table and a flights table — Flight Log finds the flights table automatically.

MyFlightbook

Logbook → Download and pick CSV. That's it.

Anything else — spreadsheets included

Any CSV with a date column plus a route (or tail number) works. Column names are matched automatically: "Total Time", "TotalTime" and "Total (min)" all land in the right place, decimal hours (1.5) and H:MM (1:30) both parse. Paper logbook in Excel? Export it as CSV and it imports too.

Step 2 — Import in Flight Log

Open Flight Log → Modules → Import Logbook (or the "Already have a logbook?" card on the dashboard). Pick the file. You'll see the detected format, a preview of your flights and a count — confirm, and your history is in. Run it twice by accident? Duplicates are detected and skipped.

Download Flight Log — import is free

Imported entries are converted from your file, and some values are derived — night time is computed from sun position when your file has no night column, and pilot role is inferred from time columns. Verify the result against your original logbook and keep that original; you remain responsible for the accuracy of your records.
